Many diseases can be avoided, and the treatment process can be made easier by implementing focused prevention efforts. Therefore, during recent years prevention has been placed on the agenda at most Danish hospitals. In order to identify and describe current prevention activities nationally, an investigation was carried out in 2000.
The purpose of this investigation – so far, the first of its kind – was to give a general view of preventive measures at hospitals, and to serve as an inspiration for the planning, development and implementation of future efforts in the area.
This report presents the main results of the investigation. The report disclosed many activities, but simultaneously it also showed great differences with respect to what was offered in various locations throughout the country.
